The Foundation Conference of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMPI) held in the Vishnu Ganesh Pinglay Hall situated in Desh Bhagat Memorial Complex, Jalandhar, Punjab on 17th September 2016. The Conference was presided jointly by Comrade Reghubir Singh (Punjab), N.Venu (Kerala), K. Gangadharan (Tamil Nadu), Rajinder Pranjpe (Maharashtra), Inderjit Singh Gerewal (U.T. Chandigarh), Tejinder Singh Thind (Haryana) and Kuldeep Singh Thakur (Himachal Pardesh). 250 Comrades from the above mentioned seven states participated while leaders and workers from three other states i.e. Andhara Pardesh, Bengal and Delhi sent not only good wishes but also full consent to the proceedings of the conference.
Prominent Communist leader Comrade Mangat Ram Pasla convened the proceedings. Alongwith presidium Com. Mangat Ram Pasla, Comrade K.K. Rema was also present on the dias. Comerade Rema is life partner of Martyr Comrade T.P. Chandershekhran. He was assasinated by the Goondas, unfortunately holding red flages in their hands. Actually they were angered because he alongwith his companions formed the RMPK (Revolutionery Marxist Party of Kerala) after quiting CPI(M) due to its revisionist live. The present name given to the newly founded All India Party, RMPI, is also a tribute to Com. Chandershekharn, Com. K.K. Rema released the new flag of party amid high sloganeering from the house. Earlier the proposal about party’s name and flag was placed by Com. Harkanwal Singh before house, which was unanimously passed by the house. Constitution of party was also adopted by house unanimously. The house also passed the resolution to get the party registered with the Election Commission of India.
The veteren militant mass leader from Tamil Nadu, Comrade Kaliyappan Gangadharan, hoisted the flage of RMPI in Desh Bhagat Memorial complex amid high enthusiasm and optimistic slogans by the participants. Comrade Mangat Ram Pasla presented the political vision document of RMPI. The document comprises ideological and theoretical vision, future tasks and socio-economic political challenges before the country and countrymen and women. (The full text is being published in this issue). It was further strengthened by the discussion by the leaders of other states especially Comrade K. Kumaran kutty, M. Rajagopal, Rajinder Pranjpe, T.L. Santosh, K.K. Rema and Comrade Harkanwal Singh during their speeches. The document also was passed unanimously. The venue “Vishnu Ganesh Pingley Hall” was decorated by the portraits of international, national and state communist stalwarts along with leaders of social reform movements. The whole atmosphere was in a serious mode of future joint left movements. The conference adopted a constitution of the party and elected 23 member Central Committee comprising Comrade Mangat Ram Pasla, Harkanwal Singh, Raghbir Singh, Gurnam Singh Daud (Punjab), N.Venu, T.L. Santhosh, K.S.Hariharan, K.K. Rema (Kerala), K.Gangadharan, M.Rajagopal, C.Chellasami, P.Amavasai (Tamil Nadu), Rajindra Pranjpe, Sanjyot Raut, Ramesh Thakur (Maharashtra), Tejinder Singh Thind, Mandeep Ratiya (Haryana), Inderjit Singh Grewal (Chandigarh) and Sudarshan Kumar (Himachal Pradesh). Four seats have been kept vacant for Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Delhi. Comrade Mangat Ram Pasla was elected as General Secretary of this committee. Comrade Raghbir Singh on behalf of presidium thanked all participants, volunteers and others who toiled to make this conference a success.
