Revolutionary Marxist Party Kerala Held its state convention

The first state convention of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) concluded with a huge rally at Calicut on December 6th and 7th. The convention started at T.P. Chandrasekharan Nagar, Calicut. It was inaugurated by Sri. Appukuttan Vallikkunnu, leftist thinker and senior journalist. He was earlier a State Committee member of CPI(M) in Kerala. A presidium of state leaders including K.K. Rema (T P C’s wife), N. Venu, K.S. Hariharan, T.L. Santhosh, Dr. Azad controlled the convention. Dr. Azad introduced the statement of policy of RMP and K.S. Hariharan put forward the constitution of party. N. Venu presented organizational report. 450 delegates selected from 14 districts of Kerala participated. Com. K. Gangadharan (Marxist Party Tamilnadu), Com. Prasenjith Bose (left collective Delhi) addressed delegate session. Convention elected T.L. Santhosh as chairman and N. Venu as Secretary and constituted 11 member  state secretariat.  Secretariat members  were N. Venu, T.L. Santhosh, K.K. Rema, K.S. Hariharan, Advocate P. Kumarankutty, Dr. Azad, K.K. Kunhikkanaran, P.P. Mohanan, K.P. Prakasan, Advocate Muhammad Rafeeq and P.J. Monsy. Convention also elected 26 member state committee.
Thousands of people including large number of women attended the rally held on the evening of December 7th at Muthalakkulam maidan, Calicut. Com. Prasenjith Bose inaugurated public meeting. T.L. Santhosh presided over the rally. Com. K. Gangadharan delivered keynote address. He spoke in Tamil and Kerala comrades received his words with claps. N. Venu, K.K. Rema, Dr. Azad, K.P. Prakasan, K.S. Hariharan spoke in the rally.
Media persons and political analysts said this is a new chapter in Kerala’s history. Because a new Communist Party with a strong conviction to fight against imperialist globalization is the need of our time and Kerala people believe RMP is suitable for this fight. From the begining itself convention paid homage to great martyer T.P Chandrasekharan who was the founder of RMP.
